quick update

just a quick update to let you all know how i'm going.

my current migraine medication is sandomigran, my tourettes med is serenace. they're working pretty well, although the sandomigran is aggrivating the TS a little as well as making my eyes a little blurry. but i certainly have a livable balance as i've only had one "near" migraine (aborted with some aspirin) in the last couple of months. quite an exciting development, really!

MRI results and second neuro appointment...

MRI results showed nothing out of the ordinary... i was almost disappointed. however, the neuro has another idea: Idiopathic intracranial hypertension. Which means a lumbar puncture. but from my reading etc, i'd say that it's about a 50/50 chance he's right. being autistic, having fibro myalgia, and meniers's it's fairly likely that it is actually migraine. on the other hand, obstructive sleep apnea, long term BC use (10 years) and my luck being sucky do point to IIH.

then there's the possibilty that it's actually both.

MRI!

MRI's are scary at the best of times. even worse when you're autistic, claustrophbic and have an unremovable (albeit titanium) piercing in your [none of your business]. however i survived today having the MRI my neurologist (with a migraine! and a cold!) although this is mostly because they sedated me. whatever they used, i want it. slept like a log when i got home and had done of the weird dreams i've been having lately. and my vocal tic has been a lot quiter over the last however many hours since they sedated me.

hopefully some more posts soon, am planning one on natural options that can help manage migraine.

Well, hello there!

well, i managed about 2 months without a migraine, but one hit me the other day. but i'm seeing the neurologist in a matter of days (the 11th, in fact.) so here's hoping for some answers, hey?

in other news, it seems that i've developed a psychosematic reaction to one of my migraine triggers: cigarette smoke. i saw a couple of women walking along smoking (from inside my grandmother's car!) and i honestly wanted to be sick. thinking it's my system panicking.

Autism and vaccines, Weddings and migraines.

although this is a migraine blog, i do want to share this article before i forget.

THE doctor who sparked the scare over the safety of the MMR vaccine for children changed and misreported results in his research, creating the appearance of a possible link with autism, a Sunday Times investigation has found.

my current migraine started last night, and i'm going to a wedding on saturday. (thank you, brain!) while i'm looking forward to the wedding, based on my past 2 migraines, i'll still have this one on the day of the wedding and i'm not looking forward to dealing with it at all. keep fingers crossed for me, all!
